Our breeder farms are the home of the parent stock birds that are reared in a highly bio secure environment. The birds are provided with top of the range feed, housing, litter, utilities, technical and veterinary services, from a team of poultry men and technical experts that have the knowledge and expertise that is essential in maintaining Kenchic’s standards of excellence that are guided by the international standards of animal husbandry.
From the breeder farms, the parent stock birds lay eggs that are collected and taken to our commercial hatchery. This happens after sorting, grading and labelling of the eggs is done for purposes of traceability. The eggs are then incubated and hatched over a 21-day period. Once hatched, the day-old chicks are either placed on Kenchic broiler farms and reared for meat or they are sold to broiler, layer and Kenbro farmers for subsistence and commercial farming. This hatchery also houses vaccination equipment that allows the birds to leave the facilities already vaccinated against deadly viral diseases such as Gumboro, Infectious Bronchitis and New Castle Disease.
Our broiler farms are made up of Kenchic owned and out grower farming facilities that allow the business to be in operation throughout the year. To ensure that the customers access high quality poultry meat, all birds are raised in naturally ventilated chicken houses with space to move around and they are given clean water and quality food to eat.
Kenchic prides itself in owning and operating a world class meat processing plant, which adheres to internationally recognized food and safety health standards as well as the European Union and World Health Organization requirements. We slaughter our birds at maturity adhering to halal requirements. The birds are then eviscerated, categorized, further processed and packed ready for consumption. Every batch of Kenchic chickens is certified healthy by Government Veterinarians at each stage of the process. The Kenchic processing plant has achieved the Diamond Mark of quality. We have an integrated distribution strategy where we continuously seek to avail your favorite high-quality chicken and processed products, at your convenience, to suit all your family’s and business white meat needs through a refrigerated distribution network. Our products are available in restaurants, and fast foods, we are also present in Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, convenience stores, Self-owned & independent butcheries, Hotels, institutions and the kuku shops in the local markets nearest to you.
